Heavy energy weighs on our heart, our mind, and our body from the fast pace of the workday and the pressures of being productive. Finding space and time for lightness and relaxation is necessary to balance the energy and create vitality in our lives. An Olympic swimmer undergoes intense training, and just as important as the training is rest and recovery. A crucial job of the swimmer's coach is to hold the swimmer accountable to the rest and recovery because the swimmer's temptation to continue to train hard is great. Balanced energy increases the vitality in our bodies, and translates into peace and tranquility in our hearts and minds. And ironically, slowing down allows us to be more productive in the long haul than if we continuously live at maximum speed.
