This book changed the way I shop at the grocery store (I avoid the center isles whenever possible partly because of this book). Michael Pollan does a wonderful job of deconstructing the food distribution and processing that happens in America. I recommend this book to anyone that eats.

Joel's book is full of great facts and ideas for how we can eat great food without relying on cheap energy. It calls out Monsanto, and CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations). There is great information on becoming more resilient such as how to grow food, keep warm, and raise healthy children. If you eat, this is a good book to read.
