High expectations are helpful when they are clear and transparent. A smart leader sets high expectations for their team and the leader is willing to be held accountable to just as high of a bar as they set for the team. An expectation is clear when it is measured and is transparent when the measurement is published for the team to see and discuss. At times the discussion is not easy and can involve conflict. Keeping score is essential for a team to know if they are winning or not. The team is willing to be vulnerable and know that one person may be outperforming another. When the team finds themselves uncomfortable with the facts, they face the discomfort, lean into it, and move towards abundance.
